Remember

by Harold G Grimes III

Remember when everyone was young?
And we would sit there
Saying how stupid they were?
Remember how we had so much fun?
And now we just sit here
Saying how stupid we were?
Remember how you said
With love we would live forever?
It was a lie and now I suffer.
I am alone and now I suffer.

No Heat

by Harold G Grimes III

Coldly human
a dramatization of heat
the noise the gossip the talk the trouble
all cheap
don’t speak

I feel it with my intelligence
the horror the nightmare the pain
the only real
we feel nothing
but cold.

Endless

by Harold G Grimes III

I suffer to your graveside
each day just to see you
talk to you
still in love with you.
that coldness left inside me
makes me sob until I’m numb.
So I sit here, summer, winter,
’til my sorrow is all gone.
So I still come here every day
for my sorrow’s endless song.

Smuggler

by Harold G Grimes III

They roll in their fate
shedding dead weight,
the men that they purchase
the women they stow
precious cargo
sent out to the masses.
They sit and they smile
in their mirrored sunglasses.
